Very good niche mod. It can really save your life in some situations and boss battles. Exempli gratia: against Claviger, you can block most of the boss and minions' attacks. Against Ixillis, you can block the glowing homing orbs as well the corrosive bomb attacks although you still have to keep an eye out for the melee strikes and laser beams.

Very cool ability, very awkward to use though.

Veil of the Black Tear

Requires a very hefty amount of mod power to activate and you can only hold one charge. On top-end weapons it lasts just over 10 seconds. Don't get me wrong, ish seconds of total invulnerability to ranged attacks is pretty huge for some bosses, but in general you'll find Flicker Cloak is easier to use and more reliable defensively.

Flicker Cloak blocks melee attacks, moves with you, lasts longer, and doesn't require as much mod power to activate. His balls are more like minions, so Rattle Weed is more suitable, but i found Iron Sentinel to work just as well.

With general weapon mods that you get at the beginning of the game, plus special ones obtained from beating bosses, combat has never been more active and satisfying.

Some of these mods are highly entertaining and useful. And the others are just Here are some of those just-okay and pretty rad weapon modifications. Let's face it. This game has way too many adds. Whether you're in a boss fight or just traversing through the general map, there are a bunch of enemies that seemingly come out of nowhere. The developers throwing 30 adds in our faces is part of what makes Remnant: From The Ashes what it is and using a tool that distracts all surrounding enemies Well, it's the best combatant there could be to this add problem.

It's also highly useful for a quick revive when you're swarmed and teammates are going down. This is a fun weapon to use on its own because of its plasma-like bursts. This mod charges up tentacles and launches them where ever you please. The tentacles smack any enemy that goes near it. It's useful when you place it in smart areas where you know enemies will approach or when there is a horde, but it's just okay.

Compared to other weapon mods, it could be better when it comes to stronger enemies. Some people like to run into action head-first, willing to take on any oncoming damage.

Other players like to sit back in safety and watch that person's six. This could be used for either and more. A large orb that stops oncoming damage is highly useful when you're becoming overwhelmed and need time to think or recuperate without immediately being hit again.

One second of peace could mean the world, most especially on harder gameplay modes. Who doesn't love a good companion summon? There are a few mods that allow you to summon "allies", if you, will that help you in battle.

Mini turrets are one of them. Off the bat you would think having the ability to summoning a bunch of small turrets would solve all your problems!

For this first move, The Dreamer gets close to the ground and starts spinning around at Mach speed, which sounds scary. Then, the Dreamer glides into the air and slams back down. Still, even then, this attack isn't very imposing. There are a lot of bosses in Remnant that throw bombs like Ixillis or blast projectiles into the air like the Iskal Queenraining them down on players.

For this variation, The Dreamer will stop moving and then fire a volley of energy orbs into the air which quickly comes back down in a rather tight spread. Quite frankly, out of all the mortar-like attacks, this is one of the easiest to avoid.

Just a bit of sprinting or one basic dodge roll will get out of the way of this attack. Just be careful, as there is a pause between both punches, which can throw people off pretty easily. There's technically one more "attack" to this phase, but it's not much of anything to worry about. From the start of the fight, basic level Root "Devils" can spawn. But, the arena is huge, so they really don't get in the way.

That said, the longer the fight goes on, the more Root spawn, so make sure to take the Dreamer out as quickly as possible. After a few volleys, Nightmare will pull the players into its "Realm" where the color palette changes pretty drastically.

While in here, the player will take a constant amount of damage until they walk out the portal on the other side. But, players commonly assume there was a reason they were pulled in here as Root Enemies start to spawn en masse around them.

Additionally, mods can be acquired from crafting, boss drops and purchased from merchants. A Tier — Powerful. Remnant: from the Ashes Weapon Mods which are very popular in the most recent patch of the game.

B Tier — Balanced. Remnant: from the Ashes Weapon Mods which are currently balanced. C Tier — Underpowered. Remnant: from the Ashes Gun Mods which are currently not that useful as they lack damage or defensive usability. Note — all Weapon Mods should be fine for casual players but if you want to maximize your build and make it better, follow the tiers below. A great survivability spell that works versus both melee and ranged damage which is great for solo sustain. Breath of the Desert is a great mid range skill that spawns 7 particles which auto-aim enemies, dealing 80 on-hit Radiation damage each.

This skill is incredible and absolutely melts bosses. Hot Shot, an absolute beast weapon mod that imbues ammo with fire for up to 30 seconds. It also boosts the critical strike chance of allies, being a BiS mod for crit builds in both solo and party play.

Skewer deals a lot of damage. Song of Swords is a ridiculously strong damage increasing aura. Excellent skill for support builds in party play.

Blink Token is a great skill for quick re-positioning as it allows you to teleport up to 13 meters away while also dealing a bit of damage. Undying is probably one of the best solo player weapon mods out there. Rattle Weed spawns a plant which can take up to damage and draws aggro from enemies. It has a long uptime of 60 seconds which is great versus melee enemies. Seed Caller summons a Root Hollow ally with HP that deals 56 damage per hit on enemies and lasts 30 seconds.

It is an okay skill for solo play. The skill fires 6 projectiles that can bounce off of walls and deal damage to enemies multiple times. Storm Caller makes an electrical storm that deals 40 Shock damage to nearby enemies for 12 seconds. Beckon spawns a Wasteland Skull that shoots projectiles which deal 15 damage on each enemy.

It lasts for 60 seconds which is quite a long up time, good sidekick.

Hive Shot fires a projectile that deals 20 on hit damage and also spawns a cloud of deadly insects. Comes equipped on the Hive Cannon when you craft one. Iron Sentinel summons a fully automatic Turret which shoots 5 times per second and deals 3 damage per shot and it lasts 20 seconds. The low uptime makes it not worth it in some cases.

Flame Thrower is not all that good because it relies heavily on DoT damage over time. It deals Fire Damage to enemies for 10 seconds and well. Though, it comes built-in into the Spitfire which is a solid weapon.

Swarm unleashes insects that deal 5 Corrosive damage per hit for 20 seconds. Static Field Shot has interesting mechanics, you do 40 Shock Damage with a projectile and apply a debuff. The enemy will then explode when they get close to you, dealing damage within a radius.
